Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden at Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church

The vision of a garden was born when the Session toured the grounds, inspecting the newly erected handicap-accessible ramp. During a discussion about the area between the ramp and the sanctuary, Pat Hayes suggested a garden.

The Session agreed and appointed Jack Hutchins to build the garden. An employee of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden volunteered her personal time to help design the garden.

With design in hand, Jack and Clyde Cox went to work. The brick work was installed along with the iron work. After much hard word, it was time to put in the plants. The Men of the Church gathered on that day and planted the flowers and shrubs.

The fountain and statues, along with identifying plaques, were installed. Many bricks around the fountain have been placed in honor of or in memory of loved ones and friends.
